5 - 4 - 3 Wire Apartment Intercom Stations

Lee Dan IR-081 oversized apt. intercom station APPLICATION
IR-081 series oversized apartment stations are large enough to cover the hole left by many previous intercom stations, so there’s no painting necessary. There are no standard mounting holes for IR-081’s. Custom 2, 3, or 4 hole configurations are drilled upon request at no extra charge, to fit your existing back boxes.

Contemporary styling, featuring fog white color and pleasing lines, compliments most decors. Advanced circuitry and simple pushbutton operation make this the perfect station for use in large or small buildings.

SYSTEM OPERATION
The visitor, by pressing the appropriate button on the entrance panel, causes an electronic tone signal to be heard at the IR-081. The resident responds by pushing the TALK button while speaking to the caller, the LISTEN button while waiting for a reply, and the DOOR button to allow entry to the building.

SPECIFICATIONS
Size: 8 7/8"H, 6 5/8"W, 1 1/2"D. Projects only 1/2" from mounting surface.

Controls: Individual button controls for Talk, Listen and Door Release functions.

Finish: White powder coat on steel.

Holes: Stocked without holes. 2, 3, or 4 hole configurations drilled upon request at no extra charge.

Screws: Includes same quantity of scrulox tamper resistant mounting screws as number of mounting holes.

Amplifier: Use UL Listed Lee Dan model PK-543.

Speaker: 3 1/2", 1 Watt, 45 Ohm. Heavy duty magnet with natural voice reproduction. Also used for tone signal from lobby panel.

Speaker Baffle: High impact white ABS plastic speaker grille.

Buttons: Individually replaceable self-wiping pushbuttons.

WIRING REQUIREMENTSIt is always advisable to run spares!
IR-081B = 5 Wires. Use 2 twisted pairs, plus 1 selective #22 gauge.

IR-081C = 4 Wires. Use 1 twisted pair, plus 1 conductor common, plus 1 selective #22. (most popular IR-081 version!)

IR-081D = 3 Wires. Use 1 twisted pair, plus 1 selective #22 gauge.

ARCHITECTS' & ENGINEERS' SPECIFICATIONS
Suite stations shall be LEE DAN^® model IR-081x (x=B, C, or D) or approved equal and shall be large enough to cover the area occupied by the previous intercom. Momentary action pushbuttons shall be provided for TALK, LISTEN, and DOOR operations. The speaker/microphone shall be a 3 1/2", 45 Ohm, 1 Watt, heavy duty magnet, high sensitivity type with voice-frequency response. Speaker and buttons shall be field serviceable. Glued-in-place components will not be acceptable.
