The SF401EX (SF-401EX) Strain Relief Cable is used to increase the life span of call cords, pillow speakers and room stations. The cable is placed between the call cord or pillow speaker and the room station. If the call cord or pillow speaker is attached to a bed and then the bed is pulled away, the strain relief cable disconnects. This prevents damage to both the room station and the call cord or pillow speaker.

Architects' & Engineers' Specifications:
The strain relief cable shall be TekTone® SF401EX (SF-401EX), or approved equivalent as supplied by LEE DAN®. The SF401EX (SF-401EX) shall be plugged into a TekTone ® call cord or pillow speaker and then into a room station to provide break-away action when stressed. The strain relief cable shall be approximately 6", and shall be terminated with one male DIN connector and one female DIN connector. The connector ends shall be molded to provide durability. A cord-out shall report at the annunciator if the cable is disconnected at either end.The SF401EX shall be UL® 1069 Listed.
