The Edwards 5536M Adaptatone Millennium accepts three electrical inputs from the closing of three normally open contacts, or a 24VDC external voltage source such as an output of a PLC, and delivers three tones from the 27 tones available. One of these inputs is a priority signal. The 5536M can also work within an Adaptatone System, sounding the central tone or voice signal or its own tone signals. Programming the signal for the tones selected is accomplished through setting the internal dipswitches. On-site volume control is also available by adjusting the internal volume control.

The programmed tones on the 5536M operate on a pyramid-type priority system in which a switch with a programmed tone takes priority over all switches that follow it. Designed for either 1/2" (13mm) conduit or surface mounting.

The 5536M Adaptatone is designed for industrial applications calling for high decibel output and microprocessor reliability combined with simultaneous signal delivery over all speakers included in the system. Typical applications include: emergency warning systems, plant evacuation alarms, security intrusion sirens, process monitoring, shift start-and-dismissal horns, and paging signals.
